Hooray for Curves!
Hi everyone:
I am pleased to tell you that Curves International just sent us a check today, made out to Families of SMA, for $750. It is so wonderful to still raise money year round, as we also raised money thru the sale of Passbooks. I do not have a figure on that yet; hopefully in the next month or so we will know the total on that as well.
As for the fundraiser, I have not had time to make any calls to have it at a different place. I am still thinking we should go with the SOKOL, have it in the fall and have some outside tents with tables set up for people to eat. I really like the idea of keeping it local. I had made a few calls a few months ago, but everywhere else is just too expensive. I know we probably should have a meeting next month, just things are a bit hectic right now. We should have a lot more people available to help with securing prizes this year and Connie has the contact information for the person who donated the Stars suite to the MDA fundraiser that said she is happy to do the same for our fundraiser.
I received 2 paintings today, so I imagine now is as good a time as any to start soliciting people for prizes. If anyone has any better ideas for a venue, please let me know. Otherwise, I will just assume we are going with SOKOL again. Tim & Connie have graciously volunteered to cook the food again, so we will just hit companies up to donate the food.
